Makala was given the "Kindness is Cool" award at school last week. It is given to several students each week who are noticed being exceptionally kind or thoughtful. She got it for be-friending a new student at the school who had a terrible 1st day, because no one would talk to her, so on her 2nd day, the counselor introduced her to Makala who then spent the lunch period with her, and showed her around, and introduced her to people. The counselor called me the day it happened to tell me what a sweet, caring daughter we had. Then she got the award and the principal called to tell me about it. way to go makala!!! I guess it always pays to be nice, and to get a new friend out of it is always great too!!
Congratulations Makala! It's always a good thing to be the recognized for doing something good! I'm sure the girl is extremely grateful for your kindness!
